ULTRASONICS - A BOON IN ELECTROPLATING

Improvement in the nature of deposits is achieved by the use of ultrasonics in plating, Plating of nickel was tried out in still and ultrasonically agitated bath. Higher microhardness and lower internal stresses were achieved when plating was done in ultrasonic field. Wear tests, fatigue testes, accelerated corrosion tests and microhardness measurements showed improvement in the performance of plated material.
