Abstract
A new boundary-sensitive phase unwrapping procedure was developed. The resultant procedure is very useful in cases where the specimen is of arbitrary shape with cutouts. When cutouts are present, the algorithm goes around that region by automatically reassigning the seed point. This was possible due to the development of a new boundary-encoding procedure.
