Abstract
[Co(C6H13N4)(C14H8O4S2)], M(r) = 504.46, triclinic, P1BAR, a = 11.074 (3), b = 12.000(4), c = 9.585 (3) angstrom, alpha = 117.40 (2), beta = 70.41 (2), gamma = 116.65 (2) degrees, V = 997.3 (6) angstrom 3, Z = 2, D(x) = 1068, D(m) = 1.68 Mg m-3, lambda (Mo K-alpha) = 0.71069 angstrom, mu = 1.09 mm-1, F(000) = 520, T = 296 K. The structure was solved by the heavy-atom method and refined to R = 0.067 and wR = 0.063 for 3632 unique observed reflections. The single Co in the unit cell occupies two positions with fractional occupancy of 0.5. The structure is polymeric in nature with Co surrounded by four O atoms and one N showing a distorted trigonal bipyramidal stereochemistry. Two O atoms belonging to one carboxylate group of the dithio-dibenzoate ion chelate to a Co atom and the two O atoms of the other carboxylate group of the dithio-dibenzoate ion are singly bonded to two other neighbouring Co atoms. Interestingly, a short Co-O distance of 1.796 (3) angstrom is observed.
