Abstract
In the proposed work iron oxide coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (Fe2O3/MWNT) was synthesized and made magnetic nanofluid by dispersing it in water. The thermal conductivity of Fe2O 3/MWNT nanofluid was investigated with magnetic field and without magnetic field for different volume fractions. The results show that high thermal conductivity Fe2O3/MWNT nanofluids with low volume fractions can be synthesized using the current method. The sample was characterized with different experimental techniques. © 2011 American Institute of Physics.
