Abstract
Tufftride TF1 treated C20 gears were tested in a back to back gear test rig. Operating conditions have been analysed and surface failures were studied. Contact stress versus cycles to failure (S-N) curve has been plotted. The results from gear tests were correlated with data from material tests under pure rolling conditions.
