Abstract
The malfunctions unbalance and misalignment of the rotor are major concerns in rotating machinery. A theoretical model using finite element method have been developed to predict the dynamic characteristics of the rotor including these two machinery faults, in an Object Oriented Programming framework. A knowledge based expert system for a gas turbine has been developed, which predicts the machine machine condition severity and the cause of the problem. The system is implemented in C++ under MICROSOFT-WINDOWS.
