Abstract
In this paper, the turbulence characteristics obtained during the interaction of two plane turbulent jets with impingement angles of α, 30° and 45° with an additional central jet in a confined space are investigated. The investigation is carried out for the velocity ratios of Uc/Uo = 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 where, Uc and Uo are the velocities in the central plane at the exit of the central jet and the outer jets respectively. The various components of the turbulent normal stresses and the shear stresses are presented. The dump angle α and the velocity ratio Uc/Uo are found to have the significant effect on the turbulence flow field. © 2001 The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc.
