Abstract
A closed form solution is obtained for the Park's vector of the stator and rotor flux linkages of a voltage controlled induction motor. The method is found to give results which are as accurate as the results given by well known methods. The CPU time required for this method is much less than by any other method. It is shown that the rotor flux vector has a circular locus, whereas the stator flux vector has hexagonal one when the machine is fed from a voltage source inverter with quasi-square wave voltages. The stator and rotor currents are rich in harmonic content. The developed torque contains predominant sixth harmonic oscillations.
