Abstract
The crystal structure of 1H,4H-terahydroquinolizino-(9, 9a, 1gh) coumarin (C15H15NO2) has been determined by X-ray crystallographic techniques. The compound crystallizes in monoclinic space group P21/n with a = 8.115(3), b = 19.067(10), c = 8.383(6) Å, β = 115.45(15)°, Z = 4. The structure has been solved by direct methods and refined to reliability index of 5.9%. The fused benzene and pyrone rings are planar. The piperidine ring C of the molecule adopts a distorted sofa conformation whereas the piperidine ring D exists in distorted chair conformation. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C-H...O hydrogen bonds. © 2005 IACS.
