Estimating product development cycle time using Petri nets

Product development has increased importance in business due to stiff competition and a fast changing business environment. Researchers recommend the project management approach but the existing planning tools are limited in application necessitating improved tools. In this paper the application of Petri nets to determine product development time is described and exemplified by a case study.
