COUPLED ROCKING AND SLIDING RESPONSE OF EMBEDDED AND PILE SUPPORTED FOOTINGS.

Field investigations were carried out to investigate the influence of the following parameters on the dynamic response of embedded and pile supported footings: backfill and embedment, inertia (size) ratio, shape, roughness of the footing surface, exciting torque, and type of contact between the pile cap and soil. These parameters were found to have a marked influence on the dynamic response of the test footings.
