Abstract
Restructured power systems need to run Power Flow Analysis (PFA) very frequently. Hence, there is a need for Linear PFA (LPFA) which reduces the computational time without compromising accuracy. In the present work, LPFA method for transmission system (TS) is proposed which gives results very close to Newton-Raphson PFA (NRPFA) method. The proposed LPFA is implemented on IEEE 30, 57, 118, 300 and Polish 2383 Bus systems. The detailed simulation results are presented. The proposed LPFA for TS is also extended to distribution system (DS) with certain modifications. The proposed LPFA for DS is implemented on IEEE 33, 69, Indian 85 and 874 Bus systems. The results of proposed LPFA for TS and DS are compared with DC PFA (DCPFA) and fast de-coupled LPFA methods under varying load conditions.
