A FACILE AND EFFICIENT SYNTHESIS OF HIGHLY FUNCTIONALIZED TERMINAL OLEFINES FROM alpha-ALKOXY-beta-HALIDES USING ZINC DUST

A simple and efficient method of zinc dust/ammonium chloride system for the terminal olefination of alpha-alkoxy-beta-halides has been described. The reaction is carried out under mild conditions and yields of fife corresponding terminal olefinic products are good. The significant feature of this method is the isolation of the pure product by simple work up in a short time.
