Electric field gradient at the F z 1 electron site in cesium halides

Abstract
The electric field gradient (EFG) tensor at the FZ1 electron site in cesium halides is calculated assuming ionic point‐charge distribution at the lattice sites. The effect of charges and of effective dipole moments (induced as well as permanent, if any) are taken into account. The calculation is made for different impurities and by assuming different possible models for the FZ1 center in cesium halides. The orientation of the principal axes of the EFG tensor with respect to the crystallographic a‐, b‐, and c‐axes are also calculated. Copyright © 1977 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA
