Abstract
This paper deals with the development and potential application of a finite element method to anodic smoothing in electrochemical machining. The tests of convergence using a direct method of calculating the potential gradients are compared with those using Lagrangian differentiation formula. Experimental verification of the FEM model and comparison with results from a model based on perturbation technique are reported. The predictions of FEM model are found to be superior. © 1988.
