Abstract
Pb(In 1/2 Nb 1/2 )O 3 -PbTiO 3 /NiFe 2 O 4 bilayer laminate composite was prepared and the converse magnetoelectric (CME) effect was investigated using a laboratory made experimental arrangement. The CME was measured by applying an ac voltage to the piezoelectric phase and the induced magnetization from the magnetic phase was observed with a pick up coil. CME studies were performed at both resonant and non resonant frequencies. The result shows the maximum value of CME coefficient (α CME ) of 116.4 mG/V at resonance frequency (230.1 kHz) under external bias field of 100 Oe. This composite can be used in electric field controlled magnetic transducers.
