Abstract
Conserving energy is one of the most important factors in efforts to be independent of oil shocks and embargos. An understanding of the process of transforming an extravagant user of energy into a very prudent user of energy is very essential in planning our strategies to achieve the targeted goal of conservation. This paper deals with the process analysis of that transformation to commit oneself to conserving energy. The technique of path analysis has been used in the present study. The prime factor studied in this paper is "awareness of need for energy conservation" as a promotional factor. © 1988.
