Abstract
The extraction of U(VI), Th(IV) and a number of fission products from nitric acid medium by a newly synthesised macroporous bifunctional phosphinic acid resin has been studied. The extraction of uranium from sulphuric acid medium has also been studied. While the gel type phosphinic acid resins seems to pose a number of problems in practical applications, the macroporous type resins are shown to be suitable for a variety of applications where conventional ion exchange resins are of limited use. © 1995, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
