Amplitude Varying Rate Matrix Approach for Machined Surfaces Classification

In this paper the amplitude varying rate statistical approach (AVRS) is applied to the study of the machined surfaces using a machine vision system. Machined surfaces can easily be distinguished by the study of the texture properties. Machined surfaces using grinding, milling and shaping processes are used for this purpose. The different statistical features obtained from the compared surfaces are discussed and analysed in this paper.
