Study and analysis of effect of various thermal processes in AA 2219 annealed sheet using acoustic emissions

This study highlights the use Acoustic Emission in assessing the effect of various thermal processes like welding, solution treatment, precipitation hardening of AA 2219 annealed sheet. This paper discusses the experimental set up, methodology and observations. The observations are expected to provide the enhanced quality control procedure for AA 2219 sheet metal components, especially where thermal treatments are involved in the process of realization and also critical inputs to the designer. © 2005 Elsevier Ltd.
