An improved heterogenized manganese complex with more active sites as oxidation catalyst

The Schiff base polynucleating copolymer ligand, P-dhtenH2 is synthesized from 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalaldehyde and ethylenediamine. An insoluble polynuclear manganese(III)-Schiff base complex, [Mn3+n(P-dhten)(OAc)n] is prepared by refluxing manganese(III) acetate and the polymeric Schiff base, P-dhtenH2 in ethanol. This polynuclear manganese complex is used as catalyst for hydrogen peroxide decomposition. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
