Synthesis of 7V-(β-D-Glucopyranosyl) alkoxyacetamides as novel glycolipids

A general method for the synthesis of novel alkyloxyacetamido glycolipids has been developed. Three novel glycolipids were designed and synthesized by O-alkylation of long chain n-alcohols in good yield. l-7V-(4,6-Di-0-isopropylidene-2,3-di-0-benzyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)chloroacetamide has been chosen as a synthon for the first time for preparing glycolipids. All the three glycohpids were fully characterized based on NMR and ESI-MS.
