Generalised Grüneisen parameters of elastic waves in calcite and its thermal expansion

The generalised Grüneisen parameters of elastic waves propagating in different directions in calcite are calculated from the measured second and third order elastic constants. There are a large number of quasi transverse elastic waves having negative values of γ′ and γ″.
