Abstract
Modal density is an important parameter required for predicting the response of a structure to acoustic excitation using the SEA concepts. In this paper, modal densities of typical spacecraft structural elements are presented using the expressions given in the literature. The dependence of modal density on different structural parameters have been discussed. The accuracy of these expressions is demonstrated analytically, with an example.
