Abstract
The built-up edge formation in cutting, and the groove wear of the tool, are factors responsible for variation of surface roughness from the ideal value. The significance of these two factors have been studied statistically using multiple correlation technique. The built-up edge, when it is present, is found to affect surface roughness to a greater extent than groove wear. © 1976, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
