Abstract
A study was carried out to quantitatively evaluate the selective fluorescence quenching efficiency of CCL4 as a quencher in methanol for different polyacyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) fluorophores by conventional fluorescence (CF) and synchronous fluorescence scan (SFS) measurement. Perylene, benzo[a]pyrene, pyrene, triphenylene, chrysene, and benzo[ghi]perylene were chosen as models for alternant PAHs and fluoranthene, benzo[b]fluoranthene, and benzo[k]fluoranthene chosen for non-alternant PAHs. The resulting data was analyzed in detail.
