Abstract
In the present work, breakdown characteristics of short air gap of Sphere-Sphere configuration with artificially floating conducting metal particle under oscillatory impulse voltages (UOIV, SBOIV and CBOIV) of different frequencies and dampings have been studied. Also, the influence of the DC bias voltage on the breakdown characteristics under similar configuration with the composite voltage formed by superposition of DC with lightning and DC with switching impulse voltages are also presented. For the purpose of comparison, the studies have also been carried out under AC, DC, LI and SI voltages and presented.
