Abstract
Transient analysis of the wave propagation due to an electric potential pulse concentrated at a point on the boundary of an infinite piezoelectric plate of crystal class 6 mm is performed. Two cases are analyzed in which (a) the infinite plate rests on a rigid immovable base and (b) the plate is kept free. Normal stress and electric potential are studied for an exponential pulse and a step pulse. Numerical results are obtained for cadmium selenide crystal. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
