Abstract
Heterogeneous photocatalysis is an effective treatment method for removal of toxic pollutants from industrial wastewaters. A novel, thin film slurry photoreactor was evaluated in this work for its effectiveness in removing phenol. The efficiency of parameters, initial phenol and catalyst concentrations and the light intensity on phenol removal was studied. The reactor performed well giving near complete removal of phenol even at a higher concentration of 500 mg/l.
