Abstract
A study of the application of the random search technique due to Luus and Jaakola [l], (The LJ method), to the design optimization of a three phase induction motor is presented in this paper. A few modifications to the LJ method, developed by the authors, aimed at improving the speed of convergence of the search are also given. With these modifications, this method provides a new technique for electrical machine design optimization. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
