Abstract
On the basis of the equations and solutions for layered anisotropic plates, an experimental procedure has been developed to determine the eighteen elastic rigidities, i.e. each of the six elastic areas, moments of area and moments of inertia. All these constants are determined from pure stretching, shearing, bending and twisting tests conducted on plates. Applying this method, rigidities for three types of glass fibre-reinforced plate have been tested: (1) laminated chopped glass strands mat; (2) symmetrically stacked five-layer plate with unidirectional fibre orientation and (3) cross-ply glass fibre-reinforced plates. © 1975.
