Abstract
The performance of horizontal slotted single and double screens in reducing the reflection and dynamic pressures on a vertical wall positioned on its lee ward side has been investigated through an experimental program. The wave screens consisted of equally spaced circular wave intercepting elements. The porosity of the screens was dictated by the clear spacing between elements. Four different screen porosity combinations were adopted for the study. The effect of an additional screen on the reflection from the wall and the dynamic pressures on the vertical wall have been compared with that due to the presence of a single screen by maintaining a same range of relative water depth, d/L p. The details of models, instrumentation, analysis of the data and the results are presented and discussed in this paper.
