Abstract
We study the photoproduction of pion pairs by analysing the matrix elements in terms of the angulae momentum and isospin states. The integral equation for the production amplitude set up in an earlier contribution is solved under certain broad assumptions and an estimate of rescattering correction arising out of the many particle intermediate states is obtained and shown to be small at least in the sub-GeV region. The effect of pion-pion resonance is shown to be small for energies upto about 700 MeV of the incident photon. © 1963.
