Abstract
Simulation of the fabrication process of ion-exchange waveguide devices is essential. It involves calculation of concentration profile produced in the waveguides by numerical solution of field assisted ion-exchange equation. The present work describes the use of Peaceman Rachford Alternating Direction Implicit finite difference method for finding the numerical solution of the ion-exchange equation. The advantages of this method are elucidated by comparing it with other methods.
