Platformification of the Global Fintech Landscape in the Twenty-first century: Opportunities and Challenges

The era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) began in the 21st century, and the world is on the cusp of a wider and broader interconnected form of life and being, which is characterized by the emergence, use, institutionalization and internationalization of Fintech. The current emergence of Fintech has led to the platformification of the global technology ecosystem, especially in the financial sector. The paper provides a compilation of developments and domains for research in Fintech, and examine, survey and analyze the transformations in the Global Fintech Governance (GFG). The overall focus of the analysis entails mitigating the emerging complexities, challenges and issues related to the GFG.
