Input resistance in an infinite rectangular grid

Presented herein is a solution to the classic problem of finding the driving point resistance in an infinite rectangular grid of equal resistances. This problem has been widely investigated for many decades. The analysis given here approaches the problem in terms of 2-dimensional Z-transforms and provides the explicit solution for certain special cases in the 2-dimensional grid.
