Abstract
The paper presents an elegant approach to solve all the problems connected with cyclic symmetric structures. The presentation includes static, Eigen value and dynamic analyses. All the three types of elements viz beam, shell and brick are used. All the associated source codes have been developed. Two typical applications in mechanical engineering viz wheels with spokes and gear teeth are used as examples to establish the efficacy of this approach. Emphasis has been on the memory needed to store the information and time needed to solve the problems.
