Chronoamperometric current at ultramicrospheroidal electrodes for steady slate EC' reactions - A two-point Pade' approximant

Abstract
The steady state chronoamperometric current for EC' reactions pertaining to ultramicroelectrodes is estimated using scattering analogue techniques for different ranges of rate constants. The general results valid for disc, sphere, oblate and prolate spheroidal geometries are reported. The polynomial expressions pertaining to two extreme limits of reaction rates are combined using a two-point Pade' approximant. Numerical estimates for current are reported and compared with existing approximate results, wherever available. A simple procedure to estimate steady state chronoamperometric current for electron transfer reactions at spheroidal electrodes, using coordinate transformation is also provided.
