Abstract
The number of BTS (Base transceiver stations) are increasing as the number of cellphone subscriber base is expanding and hence the need for analyzing the energy consumption of the constituents of the shelter becomes important. This paper briefly considers the various sources and loads at the telecom towers, introduces an simulation tool developed using Matlab, and ends by demonstrating alternate strategies to significantly reduce costs, energy consumption and carbon footprints. © 2012 IEEE.
