Abstract
The tetrahydropyranyl ring of ophiocerin A has been successfully synthesized from D-gulonic acid-δ-lactone with the requisite stereogenic centers. However deoxygenation at C6 in the precursor was not achieved. ©ARKAT-USA, Inc.
