Abstract
The nano copper particles were produced by the wire explosion process. The influence of chamber pressure on the size of the particles was analysed. The size of the particles was measured using Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) studies and particle size distribution analysis was carried out by adopting log-normal distribution. WAXD studies were carried out to understand the presence of copper particles. SAD studies were carried out. The mechanism of formation of nano powder by wire explosion technique was explained in detail. It is realised that the particle produced in this process is independent of polarity of the charging voltage. Copyright © 2006 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
