Abstract
The surface chemistry of polycarbonate (PC) film and the adhesion of ultraviolet-cured ink were investigated using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Gold (Au) films were deposited onto PC substrate by thermal evaporation. Photoablation and photo-oxidation degradation in PC was investigated by laser ablation. The metal-polymer was found to be insensitive to the metal work function. Free carbon transport into the Au films resulted in a diffused interface with low oxygen concentration.
