Abstract
A number of windows are proposed for frequency domain implementation of the DFT. The peak sidelobe levels of these windows ranges from minus 31. 47 dB to minus 87. 69 dB, while the asymptotic decay of the sidelobe envelope varies from 6 dB/octave to 42 dB/octave. However, the variation in the first sidelobe level is from minus 31. 47 dB to minus 93. 50 dB. Conventional time domain windowing requires N/2-stored values of the window samples and N-multiplications. In the scheme suggested here, the multiplications are replaced by shift and add operations. Efficient structures are suggested for frequency domain windowing, followed by the plots of the Fourier transform of the windows, in order to select appropriate windows depending on particular requirements.
