Atomically precise clusters of noble metals: An introduction

Nanoclusters, composed of a few atoms of nanomaterials, are a new class of materials with emerging properties. These materials fall in the nanoparticle-to-atom/molecule transition region and exhibit molecule-like properties owing to the gradual emergence of discrete electronic states. Such materials are also interesting due to their wide variety of applications in areas such as energy, environment and biology.
