Abstract
Milk adulteration is a common practice in developing countries due to the high consumption rate and limited milk supply. Here the colorimetric technique is used to detect three adulterants added in milk using a paper-based sensor. A 3D design of a paper-based microfluidic device is also proposed to detect multiple adulterants in milk simultaneously. The limit of detection of the adulterants is found within 0.2% (v/v). This point of care sensor is portable, low-cost, fast, and facile, which can be used for rapid on-field testing of milk adulteration in developing countries.
