NATURAL FREQUENCIES OF CIRCUMFERENTIALLY PERIODIC STRUCTURES.

This paper aims at utilizing Potters' scheme for the free vibration of cyclic symmetric structures. Potters' scheme has been modified for the free vibration analysis and later to static analysis of circumferentially periodic structures. The concept of rotating mode shape described by Thomas is applied. In order to determine all the natural frequencies of a cyclic symmetric structure, it is sufficient to consider only a single substructure.
