Some experiments and a critical discussion on the effect of atomic hydrogen on martensite formation in eutectoid steel

This paper reports on the effect of atomic hydrogen introduced at 1053 K on the austenite to martensite (A/M) transformation of a eutectoid steel. It was found that hydrogen charging of this steel has no significant effect on the A/M transformation. The results of previous investigators are discussed in the light of this finding.
