Abstract
Noise from anthropogenic sources has increased tremendously in the past few decades and has become a nuisance in many cities. Noise pollution is among the key ecological stressors where people are unaware of its effects, but it has significant health impacts on the exposed population. This study discusses the development of a custom-made lowcost sensor network aiming to continuously collect ambient noise levels along with particulate matter concentration and meteorological parameters like temperature and humidity and transmit the collected data to a central cloud server in realtime. The sensor is also compared with a standard Type 2 Sound Level Meter in indoor and outdoor environments.
