Abstract
Sm3Ag2.55Al8.45 crystallizes in the orthorhombic La3Al11 type structure (space group Immm). The low-temperature magnetic-susceptibility data clearly exhibits ferromagnetic transitions having TC at 13.8 K. Heat capacity data manifests a bulk magnetic transition at the same temperature. The drop in electrical resistivity at TC = 13.8K is due to spin disorder scattering which coincides well with magnetic and thermodynamic measurements.
