Zn<inf>3</inf>P<inf>2</inf> as infrared-to-ultraviolet photoconverter

The optical, electronic and other fundamental properties of zinc phosphide, Zn3P2, are briefly reviewed. Photoelectric properties of Zn3P2-based devices are discussed in various geometrical configurations. Technological problems are considered briefly and the potential application of Zn3P2 as a solar photovoltaic conversion device is shown. © 1988.
